Hising Island von Berit Lindfeldt am Kvillebäcken in Gothenburg


On Kvillebäcken, corner Brämaregatan / Herkulesgata in Gothenburg today stands a bronze sculpture Hising Iceland, a work that originally was located on Wieselgrensplatsen where to find today, the base with the original ornamentation is. The work on the Kvillebäcken Hisingen is therefore not complete.

Hising Iceland is the island Hisingen as they once rose from the sea, where the east and west by the cliffs and in the middle of the former wasteland with few fossils. The artwork was acquired in 1985 by Charles Felix Lindberg Donationsfond and is the only monument of Gothenburg, which is dedicated to the history Hisingen.

Berit Lindfeld order, including the Boll realized in Majorna, was born in 1946 in Gothenburg, and studied at the School of Art and Konstindustriskolan Valand in Gothenburg. The artist was later at several art schools in Sweden visiting lecturer, including at the College of Design and Crafts and Valand. Berit Lindfeld completed numerous public art works in Sweden.
